About Bolly Yoga

Bolly Yoga incorporates indo-contemporary dance (a blend of Indian classical dance and contemporary dance), classic Bollywood tunes, live music, story-telling and yoga.

Ashima Suri with girl and dance teacher. Our vision for Bolly Yoga is to provide a platform for participants to be able to express themselves and create community. Founded by Ashima Suri, this dance yoga form is created to provide a safe and healing space where participants can tune in and let go of what is no longer needed.

Bolly Yoga is a heart and community based artistic medium that engages with all people regardless of ability, age or cultural background.

Bolly Yoga is all about connection and community. In this dance yoga form, we create a safe and healing space where participants can tune in and let go of what is no longer needed. What is also great about this form of dance yoga is that it can be for all ages. The workshop can be modified for any age or ability.

Bolly Yoga is facilitated by Toronto-based trained dance and yoga instructors. Over the past two years, we have facilitated Bolly Yoga at yoga studios, large public community events and private events. In our current global climate, Bolly Yoga really is a powerful tool that brings people together regardless of background. Our workshops are interactive and family-friendly.

Bolly Yoga has been featured numerous times on the media and has been supported and awarded grants from East End Arts and Toronto Arts Council. Bolly Yoga was also selected as a top 10 finalist for the BMO seed fund Neighbourhood Arts Network.
